Desires of Jelly Key makers: Michael Nguyen & Stephen Ngo

[…Before you wise, you must be stupid first, in this case, Jelly Key like to say it our way, “Before you’re a man, you must be a boy first.” Ya, we didn’t mean that boys all are not so wise, just want to speak about our designer Michael Nguyen and artist Stephen Ngo. Yep, they were also boys before (congratulation bros, you’re wise now). Yep. They were once boys, with the desires of young men, to become the makers, the creators, and try to fulfill their dreams, create real beautiful and amazing products, and now being a designer and an artist with us, with Jelly Key. Bravo first, they really did good job. And now we’ll talk about how’s Jelly Key makers’ lives are, while jogging around with keycap making new updates…]

Michael Nguyen, the spirit of creative, he’s the one with the ideal of must always to give brilliant ideas of Jelly Key keycap designs

Our designer, Michael Nguyen, the spirit of creative, he’s the one with the ideal of must always to give brilliant ideas of Jelly Key keycap designs. Beside him, Stephen Ngo, is our clever artist that has a good grasp of knowing materials and components. They’ve been working together since the day Jelly Key was first established until now.

Michael Nguyen holds a super important role to provide the ideas for Jelly Key keycap designs, mostly you’ve been seeing on our website. His job is to get his ideas on the sketches, make them  prototypes. He shared that whenever he’s block of ideas, he would wander around with many questions in his head, search for new inspirations, like Installation Art, Interior decoration or natural sight, we don’t really get what’s happening in his head but sometimes he just shoots out crazy ideas and make the best of them. You’re gonna love him if you know his ideas of Forbidden RealmsNatural Metaphors or Legendary Castles artisan keycap, aren’t you? Such a headed-guy.

Stephen Ngo, is our clever artist that has a good grasp of knowing materials and components. He & Michael ’ve been working together since the day Jelly Key was first established until now.

Besides, Stephen Ngo seems to be a powerful helpful artist. He’s in charge of many tasks being an artist, a super useful supporter that would help Michael out with his knowledge of huge variant materials and handmade skills and methods, to make Michael with his prototypes and make them become able to produce. He also leads the harvest team of the Onion Farm (the name of our production room), and take responsibility of measuring time for craft team to complete all the tasks. This puts him under pressure sometimes, and his react to this issue is way adorable you couldn’t imagine first. He’d like to see what Jelly Key’s friends and fans had shared their keycaps from Jelly Key with lovely compliments and emotions toward the keycaps they own on internet, that’ll enlight his mind while he’s enduring a high pressure period. Cute?

But Michael helps with his works also. “Best of his help is to give a full and details writing of his prototype making or videos of the whole process.” , said Stephen, that would help Stephen pretty much to imagine how he’ll deal with a larger number of keycaps in the near future.

The two guys took part in making Jelly Key the unique pioneer in crafting keycap with amazing inner sculptures, mystic universe, constellations or natural sight. All engraved and arranged inside a standard profile keycap with smooth, polished and elegant surface while almost other keycap makers at that time were still chasing up the sculpture keycap line. That’s also what made Jelly Key name outstanding. [Lately after, there’s also keycap makers doing the exactly what we are doing, their jobs are great too, but still taking after. Check out the name on internet you’ll find them, we don’t make up a story. ]

Moreover, what you don’t see about Jelly Key’s prototypes is: some of them were never shown in front of you. You could see Jelly Key often releases one or two designs a months, but what our designer Michael Nguyen and artist Stephen Ngo worked was much more than that. They love their ideas, they love what they’re doing and some of the prototypes were such unbelievable, but we never let them on air. Why? Handcrafting keycap holds a tempting secret that every craftsman know that: an exotic effect, is sometimes randomly and somehow sadly made only once, you never can recreate it with an accurate appearance like the first time you did it. Michael and Stephen would have to work both hardly together to determine how components will be added and put into a prototype of a design that must be beautiful and able to handmade recreate at the same time.

One last but not least about Jelly Key’s makers ideal is, we always search for new ideas, new skills and inspirations beside always improving what hasn’t been perfect yet, our QC and accurate time shipment, we’re working on that and thanks to your great encouragements, Jelly Key’d love to do our great for you.
