From these cherished recollections, Lunar Delicacies artisan keycaps was born – a collection that carries the sweet essence of youth and the timeless artistry of traditional mooncake crafting.

Inspiration from ancient craftsmanship

The inspiration for this collection stems from traditional mooncakes and their age-old crafting methods. These delicate pastries were originally shaped using simple earthenware or ceramic molds, bearing the imprint of time itself. As centuries flowed by, these molds evolved into wooden masterpieces – crafted from persimmon or jackfruit wood – materials both durable and perfectly suited for carving intricate, delicate patterns that would grace each precious cake.

Whenever I think of Mid-Autumn Festival, vivid images flood my mind: those magical autumn nights that defined my childhood. Darkness illuminated by glowing paper lanterns, the joyous laughter of neighborhood children racing through the streets with their colorful lights, sharing mooncakes beneath the harvest moon’s gentle glow.

I can still recall, as if it were yesterday, the first time I was given money to buy those adorable little pig-shaped cakes I had longed for. It requires recreating multiple translucent resin casting layers – the outer translucent layer neither too thin nor thick, with color layers perfectly balanced to create the dough surface appearance while remaining transparent enough to reveal inner colors mimicking cake fillings. Color selection plays a crucial role in conveying the soft mooncake wrapper sensation and the sweet inner filling.
