When the Idea Took Root

I still remember that day at the end of 2021 like it was yesterday. Sitting in my office, gazing out the window at golden leaves drifting down, it suddenly hit me: we’ve become so disconnected from nature. Ten hours a day staring at screens, our eyes seeing nothing but the cold blue glow of LED lights. That’s when I asked myself: “Why not bring the forest right to our desks?“

Our Born of Forest series had been successful, but I wanted something more. I wanted people to look down at their keyboards and see a miniature forest breathing, living, thriving. I wanted them to feel the changing seasons right there in their sterile workspace. That became my philosophy for this collection.

The Battle with Tiny Trees

I spent three months perfecting the technique for casting ultra-miniature trees. Over six tree types, twelve different sizes ranging from 3.24mm to 9.15mm. Sounds simple? Try imagining creating a canopy just 0.45mm thick while preserving every single detail!

I remember one night, after failing fifty times in a row trying to remove trees from their molds, I almost gave up. But then I thought about the people who would mount these keycaps on their keyboards – working 8-10 hours daily, eyes fixed on nothing but screens and keyboards. If I could give them a moment of peace with nature, even through a fleeting glance at their keyboard, then every effort would be worth it.

The Art of Patience

The new grass-creating technique taught me patience in a completely different way. Six hours of waiting for each epoxy layer – six hours where I couldn’t do anything but sit there and trust the process.

During those waiting hours, I’d often wonder: “Will someone feel the softness of these grass blades? Can they imagine wind blowing through meadows when they see this keycap?“

I believe they can. Because we humans, no matter how busy we get, always yearn to connect with nature. You can see this philosophy throughout Jelly Key’s collections.

Water Flow – The Symbol of Life

Four color layers for each waterfall, each river. Each layer required 4-7 hours of waiting. People ask me: “Why not do it all at once to save time?“

I tell them: “Have you ever seen nature in a hurry? Rivers take millions of years to carve their curves and create waterfalls. I only need a few dozen hours to recreate that – what’s there to complain about?“

Every time I see those tiny bubbles, those shimmering ripples in the keycap, I think about the people who’ll use them. They might not notice every detail, but their subconscious will feel it. And in their most stressful work moments, maybe a glance at their keyboard will help them breathe a little easier.

Assembling Miniature Worlds

When I began assembly, I felt like a director staging the performance of my life. Each tree was placed not just according to design, but according to the emotion I wanted to convey.

The tree on the left – I wanted it to represent the fresh start of a new workday. The center tree – that’s the peak energy of midday. The tree on the right – the tranquility of late afternoon.

Every drop of epoxy I applied carried a wish: “May the user feel more peaceful, love nature more, and find motivation to protect our environment.“

Pouring that final resin layer, I knew the next 24 hours would determine everything. Checking every two hours, hoping for the best. I imagined a programmer somewhere, after a long day debugging code, looking down at their keyboard and seeing a tiny forest breathing. Maybe they’d smile. Maybe they’d remember picnics in the park. Maybe they’d decide to place a small plant on their desk.

When Dreams Become Reality

Seasons of Sylvan Splendor isn’t just a product. It’s my message to the world: “No matter how busy you are, no matter how stressful work gets, always make time to cherish nature.“

Every time a customer purchases our product, I know they’re not just buying a keycap. They’re buying a daily reminder to protect our environment, to preserve the green in our world.

And I believe that from these small glances at keyboards each day, great actions to protect Earth will grow. Because love for nature, no matter how small, can change the world.
