Let’s look at what we found in a ripped journal buried in Coral Oases, where the coral reef can live in many earth conditions, including desert because their beauty is eternally captured with a spell.
“When you were at a bright place, in a good mood, and someone asked you what you wanted to be next, our minds evoked a bright future where anything seemed promising and possible. Then suddenly, you entered a dark time in your life when you became wiser and realised it’s unrealistic to be everything you wanted because the world is not a perfect place. The starting point of every journey then becomes a discussion of priorities.
‘Rainforests of the sea’
When I was young, the sea floor was an easy place. The water was crystal clear, aqua-blue waters teeming with a kaleidoscopic array of colourful life. We used to be called “rainforests of the sea” because of our large fraction of the earth’s biodiversity.
The happiest moments of my life have been the few in which I enjoy the joyful presence of many colourful tiny gobies living inside our coral reef communities. We are their hiding place, playground, and home. Every day, we are more than happy to be productive nurseries to many fish species, giving them a home and a chance to grow. They are our rainbowed little friends, source of joy and the secret of our survival.
Then the 7th continent appeared…
Did you know: that humans call plastic pollution at sea the seventh continent because these polluted areas are as large as a continent? Bad news, this continent has changed our lives forever because poor water quality is hurting us. When toxicants, sediment and other pollutants enter the water, they smother us, speed the growth of damaging algae, and lower water quality. Plastic pollution can also make corals more susceptible to disease, impede our growth and reproduction, and cause changes in food structures on the reef.
The seventh continent also blocks out the sunlight that we need to grow. The more we feel unhealthy, the less beautiful tiny fish we see around us. I heard that it’s not that our little friends have been leaving us, but they are sick too.
As our vivid and bold colours also fade away, we know this earth is no longer a perfect place, or it’s never been.
We don’t have all the answers together…
But while we are looking forward to the day all human communities are connected with the tools and resources they need to address water pollution, the priority now is to keep our portrait in a frame that our beauty and most brilliant time of our existence is eternal.
Fortunately, we heard about a spell that shall capture our gorgeousness into a keycap for humans. Light sparks in our hearts as we know a big journey awaits. Can’t wait to see new friends along the way!”

An idea to come
In every design, it is not just a keycap but it is an artwork. You are not hard to realize that we bring the masterpieces of mother nature or the creativity of human for you to enjoy sightseeing, recall happy memories, or take you to magical and mythical lands. As in the Coral Oases series, you can enjoy the eternal beauty of corals – a fascinating marine ecosystem in the deep ocean. Our team is extremely excited about this idea so we have developed 3 versions of the Coral series until now.
To come up with an idea is not easy but to turn that idea into a miniature piece of art like a keycap is also not that easy.
A making process that is revealed
The production starts from casting the base, then works on tiny details that are characters inside each keycap and finishes by making the cover.
The first step is always most important as it requires meticulousness and high precision to ensure the correct size of the keycap. Besides, to bring a strong base, we use a special type of resin so it has more time-consuming to dry. Especially, we cast the base with 2 layers to ensure a thick and solid foundation. This technique is a great way to minimize the risk that may cause the collapse of the keycap since all details are put together.
Moving to another significant and complicated process, we shape the liquid and some raw materials to form the corals and creatures around them. Our team works with extra care in this step: very careful and attentive. It ideally takes around 8-12 hours to deal with this process. In case there is any trouble when removing the patterns from shaping moulds, the time needed to get this step done is double or even triple as much as it is. After that, colouring is crucial to describe the realistic portrayal of beautiful coral reefs. The smaller size it is, the harder work that our artist faces. As for 1u keycaps, we cast seven resin colour layers and another layer multi colour for shadow and come up to 12 colour layers with a spacebar. Although it is hard to jump into details at the corners of this small stuff, we are confident that there is no mark of carelessness in our casting process.
Lastly, we put all of them together inside the keycap and cover them with a durable resin to bring a protective shield for this miniature beauty of nature.
Honestly, we try to have less of a hassle in every step to race against time so that these keycaps are brought to your home on time.
